Cajun Shrimp Pasta is the Spicy Fusion You’ve Been Waiting For

Cajun shrimp are always delicious, but matching them with a creamy pasta sauce makes them even more perfect! Try this recipe at home and you’ll tastebuds will be thanking you.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp fresh or thawed if frozen 
  • 8 ounces penne or another kind of pasta  
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika 
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of  onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 cloves minced garlic 
  • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups half and half
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Recipe

  1. Boil the water, salt generously, and cook the pasta.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. In a bowl, combine the shrimp with the other 2 tablespoons of oil and cajun seasoning. 
  3. Then, cook the shrimp for about 5 minutes and then set to the side. 
  4. Wipe out the pan and then ver medium heat, melt the butter and let it heat it up. 
  5. Cook garlic for 30 seconds and then whisk in the flour. 
  6. Then, whisk in the half and half, stir in the cheese until it melts. 
  7. Put the pasta back into the sauce along with the shrimp, toss, and serve!
