Cajun shrimp are always delicious, but matching them with a creamy pasta sauce makes them even more perfect! Try this recipe at home and you’ll tastebuds will be thanking you.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp fresh or thawed if frozen
- 8 ounces penne or another kind of pasta
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Recipe
- Boil the water, salt generously, and cook the pasta.
- While the pasta cooks, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. In a bowl, combine the shrimp with the other 2 tablespoons of oil and cajun seasoning.
- Then, cook the shrimp for about 5 minutes and then set to the side.
- Wipe out the pan and then ver medium heat, melt the butter and let it heat it up.
- Cook garlic for 30 seconds and then whisk in the flour.
- Then, whisk in the half and half, stir in the cheese until it melts.
- Put the pasta back into the sauce along with the shrimp, toss, and serve!
