Best Ways to Wean Yourself Off of Sugar

These days, it’s pretty common knowledge amongst health experts that sugar is one of the worst things you can put in your body. For this reason, many of us do all we can to rid our diets of this substance. But unfortunately, this is a lot easier said than done, because sugar is just so damn tasty. And it’s also just as equally addicting. However, fear not, because here are some tips you can follow to wean yourself off of sugar.

Don’t Go Cold Turkey

As our title suggests, it’s probably best not to get rid of all of your sugar at once. For some people, this method may work best, but for many others it can be destructive. Instead of putting two spoons of sugar in your coffee, put one. Slowly but surely, you’ll start to get used to life without so much sugar.

Drink a Lot of Water

Most of the time, we eat sugary snacks because we’re just hungry. Water is one of the best ways to make ourselves feel full and thus eliminate the need to fill up on sweets.

Other Forms of Sweetness

If we can find other places to get our sweetness fill, we may be less inclined to turn to sugar for it. For instance, eating healthy fruits are sweet and can make you forget all about your candy stash.
