Ben and Jerry’s Brings Back Fan Favorite “Dublin Mudslide” Flavor

Ben & Jerry’s are adding an exciting new/old entry to their flavor lineup. The ice cream company just announced the return of fan-favorite Dublin Mudslide flavor, which should already be available in the store freezer near you.

The Story of Dublin Mudslide

Dublin Mudslide’s taste is described as “Irish cream ice cream with chocolate chip cookies and coffee fudge swirls.” It was originally introduced back in 2004 as a limited-time flavor. The ice cream aficionados fell in love with the flavor and it became a part of the permanent lineup a year later. Unfortunately, its run lasted only until 2007, when it was discontinued.

Resurrection

After spending more than a decade on Ben & Jerry’s “flavor graveyard”, Dublin Mudslide is making a triumphant return. However, the resurrected Dublin Mudslide is slightly different from the original due to the company’s use of Wheyward Spirit. This whey-based spirit is described as a combination of sake and vodka, adding a new and exciting note to the old favorite.

Is it Any Good?

It is unclear whether the new Dublin Mudslide is here to stay, but the first reactions are overwhelmingly positive. According to the reviews on YouTube, the flavor resembles Irish cream liqueur Baileys and has a pleasant coffee aroma.
