We love apples. They’re sweet and delicious as well as a great source of fiber and vitamin C, so they’re definitely a smart choice if you’re looking for a healthy snack. While tasty on their own, apples served “nacho style” are a fun and filling option for eating more fruit. This recipe is customizable for whatever ingredients you have on hand. Sliced apples act as the “chips”, while your favorite nut butter serves as the “cheese.” Top them off with chocolate chips, coconut flakes, anything your heart desires. Bon apple-tit!

Ingredients: Serves 1-2

  • 2-4 apples
  • ⅓ cup your choice of natural nut butter, we recommend peanut or almond
  • ¼ cup of coconut flakes
  • ¼ cup of chocolate chips

Instructions:

  • Cut apples into slices around ¼ inch thick and spread on a large plate
  • Place nut butter in a microwave-safe bowl and warm for about 30 seconds, until liquidy
  • Chocolate can be added as chips, or if you’d prefer to drizzle melted chocolate, place chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between rounds to prevent chocolate from burning.
  • Once melted, drizzle melted nut butter and chocolate over apples
  • Sprinkle with suggested toppings or any other toppings desired
  • Serve and enjoy warm!
