Fall is just a few weeks away, and it was just a matter of time before Starbucks brought back some cozy drinks that this season can’t go without. Pumpkin Spice Latte made an expected comeback, but Starbucks is currently rocking our world with another, brand-new drink—Apple Crisp Macchiato.
So what is this drink all about? According to Starbucks’ press release, Apple Crisp Macchiato is made with steamed milk, Starbucks signature espresso, and caramelized-spiced-apple drizzle. The taste of this drink has been compared to classic apple pie, and you can opt between a hot and cold version.
According to the senior manager of Starbucks’ research and development team, Raegan Powell, their main goal with this drink was to combine the taste of an autumn red apple with espresso by creating an ingredient with a spicy baked apple flavor.
“Fall at Starbucks brings customers back to the nostalgic flavors of the season and our team used that inspiration to create a new flavor that celebrates those feelings of comfort and familiarity,” explained Powell.
If you want to take a break from Pumpkin Spice Latte this fall and try an equally delicious drink that captures the spirit of fall, Apple Crisp Macchiato may be your cup of tea. It’s available at all Starbucks locations in North America, starting with August 24th.
