Sometimes in the summer months, it’s simply too hot to do anything but sit outside and soak up the heat. To help you cool down and stay awake you might want to drink some cold brew coffee, or you might like a nice cocktail to help you relax. Well, why not both? Here are some ways to turn your cold coffee into a nice cocktail.

Iced Irish Coffee

If you’ve ever had an Irish coffee, you know that black coffee paired with Irish whiskey and a touch of sweetness makes the perfect warm drink. So why not turn it into a cold drink? Much like Irish coffee, this calls for black coffee poured over ice, a shot of Irish whiskey, and a dash of sugar syrup. Top with whipped cream (preferably whipped into soft peaks rather than from a can) to complete the transformation.

Espresso Martini

This is a classic drink for those who like a stronger cocktail to sip. Combine sugar syrup, a shot of espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur, and ice in a cocktail shaker, shake and strain into a martini glass. For a more iced-coffee feel that you can drink through a straw, pour the ingredients over ice in a large glass and mix.

Sweet Liqueurs

For a sweeter, creamier iced coffee experience, try adding a dash of sweet liqueur such as Irish cream, kahlua, or chocolate liqueur to your cold brew or freshly brewed iced coffee. Add milk or half-and-half for a richer drink, and top with whipped cream.
