When we think of yogurt, we usually consider it to be a breakfast staple. But, it turns out that yogurt is a super versatile ingredient that can be used to elevate meals. Yogurt adds creaminess and a tanginess to everything from appetizers to desserts and here are some great ways to use it in your cooking throughout the day.
Salad Dressing
Instead of buying store-bought dressings that are loaded with ingredients you can’t pronounce, make your own with lemon juice, salt, olive oil, pepper, and yogurt. It’s healthier and tastier than the bottled versions.
Dips
Whip up a two-ingredient dip sure to please crowds with yogurt and olive oil. Just top the dip with some herbs and cut up some veggies for serving.
Soups and Stews
Mix yogurt in while cooking soups and stews or garnish them with it for the perfect compliment to hearty, meaty or vegetable-based dishes.
Marinade
Make a delicious marinade for chicken, meat, or fish with garlic cloves, fresh herbs, olive oil, black pepper, salt, and yogurt.
Baked Goods
Sub in yogurt for other liquids or dairy when baking cookies, cakes, or muffins. You can also top baked goods with a yogurt, confectioner’s sugar, and lemon icing.
