Instant noodles are a golden standard when it comes to cheap and tasty food. And they are quick to make—in a matter of minutes, you have a hot dish in front of you. Plus, you don’t even need a stove to cook them.

While the most efficient way to make instant noodles is cooking them in a pot on a stove, not having one isn’t a dealbreaker. Here are three ways to cook instant noodles without a stove.

Microwave

Cooking instant noodles in a microwave is easy. Pour two cups of water into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for two to three minutes. Then add the noodles and microwave for another five minutes. Finally, add flavor packaging and let the noodles sit for a couple of minutes before digging in.

Electric Kettle

If you have an electric kettle, you’ll be happy to hear that you can use it to make instant noodles. Take the noodles out of the packaging and put them in a bowl or a pot. Bring water to a boil in a kettle and pour it over the noodles. Cover the bowl/pot with a lid to trap the heat. Add seasoning pack after three to four minutes and stir. Wait for a minute or so, and you can start eating.

Cold Water

As you might have guessed, hot water is the most important part of the instant noodles cooking process. However, in the case of an emergency, you can also use cold water. Just pour two cups of cold water over the noodles, add a flavor pack and let it sit for 15 minutes before eating. Of course, it won’t be as tasty but it should do the trick.
