As food prices rise, the cost of chicken and meat is becoming expensive. So, how can you make sure you are eating your recommended daily allowance of protein? It could mean looking into other sources of protein. Here are three tips to add more protein to your meals without spending more on groceries or putting in hours of effort.

Stock Your Freezer

Frozen peas and soybeans are high in protein and can be eaten as sides or made into dips, like pea pesto. Keeping your freezer stocked with them can make it easier to add them to a meal. Edamame (soybeans) are a great snack and only take 5 mins to make.

Start Eating Tofu

Tofu is so easy to cook with, as it takes on all flavors of the dish and can be a great addition to most dishes. You can blend it into smoothies or marinate it and add it to stir-fries.

Add More Toppings to Your Dishes

If you want to add more flavor and protein to your basic dishes, why not try some greek yogurt or tahini? Both are high in protein and bring more texture to a dish. You can also add some nuts or cheese to a salad or soup or try some crunchy quinoa.
