Air fryer experienced a huge boom this year thanks to its incredible versatility but making certain types of food inside it can get tricky. Popcorn is a case in point and making it inside the air fryer is pretty divisive. Here are three things you should keep in mind before giving it a try.

Be Patient

Making popcorn in the air fryer might require more patience than you’re willing to put in. Even if you preheat your air fryer so the popcorn kernels would start popping quicker, it will take at least 5 or 10 minutes, depending on the quality of your air fryer.

Smaller Batches

Another downside of preparing popcorn in the air fryer is that you might have to pop them in several batches to get things right. You can only use about a quarter cup of kernels per session in standard air fryers because most of your kernels will end up un-popped if you’re using too much.

Potential Damage

Some people avoid preparing popcorn this way because it can potentially damage the air fryer. Popcorn kernels are tiny and lightweight and they could end up lodged inside the heating element of your air fryer instead of popping, causing a huge mess along the way.
