Craft beer mania is in full swing around the world right now.
Instead of opting for traditional brews from large, commercial breweries, more and more beer lovers are opting for unique beers produced by small companies.
Here are three craft beer styles that you might not yet know about, but that you will love.
Russian Imperial Stout
This style consists of dark, heavy beers with high alcohol content. Typically, they have notes of caramel, coffee, and dark chocolate.
They, as the name suggests, were originally brewed for the Russian King Peter the Great. English brewers put a twist on a typical stout to satisfy the needs of the king.
Saison
Saison is a style that originates in Belgium. It was born from farmers that let their beer ferment outside, allowing natural, non-harmful bacteria to give the beer a unique taste.
These beers are light but have plenty of flavor. They are often described as spicy and fruity and are perfect for a hot day.
New England IPA
While a traditional IPA is known for strong hop bitterness, New England IPAs are a bit different.
Originating in Northeastern United States, these beer have plenty of hops, but do not have the bitterness of a normal IPA. Instead, they are fruity and delicious. They are often described as smoothies in a glass.
