There are plenty of reasons why you’d want to learn how to make a cocktail on your own. Maybe you’re entertaining and want to serve your guests a nice drink. Maybe you want to learn how to make your favorite cocktail at home so you don’t have to keep paying bar prices. Maybe you’re getting into mixology as a hobby. Whatever your reason, here are three cocktails that you can learn how to make easily at home.

Negroni

Easy and well-balanced, this cocktail is a great one to keep in your back pocket. You make it with an ounce each of dry gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari. Stir it with ice for 30 seconds and garnish with a slice of orange.

Martini

Does this one even need explaining? A martini is a martini. Everybody knows and respects it as the classic drink that it is. Make it with two ounces of gin and one-ounce dry vermouth. Add it to an ice-filled metal shaker, stir for 10 seconds, strain into a cocktail glass, garnish with a lemon peel, and feel like James Bond.

Daiquiri

Sweet, sour, and strong, a daiquiri is easy to make and easy to enjoy. It’s two ounces of white rum, one ounce of lime juice, and 3/4 ounces of simple syrup. Just shake well in a mixing glass with ice and enjoy!
