About 16% of the world’s population die from cancer each year. Most of us are aware of the seriousness of this hazardous disease. What we ignore is the fact that there are certain foods we consume daily that enhance the risk of developing cancer.

By cutting out these food items, you can start the fight against this disease on your own. As it is said that an ounce of prevention worth a pound of cure, we list some of the most common cancer-causing foods that can be avoided easily:

Canned goods are lined with bisphenol-A (BPA) that causes cancer.

Refined sugar contains high fructose corn syrup that elevates insulin level and feeds cancer cells.

Genetically modified foods such as corn and soy.

Popcorns from microwave may cause lung cancer due to the ingredients like the chemically-lined bag and artificial flavoring butter

Hydrogenated oils are chemically treated and non-organic.
