Burgers have had a glow-up in the last few years, moving from a simple patty with some lettuce and tomato to towering smash burgers loaded with cheese, fried eggs, and even deep-fried onion rings. The possibilities are only as limited as your tastebuds.

As the star of the show, it’s crucial that the patty is juicy, flavorsome, and grilled to perfection. And, as with anything, there are a few secret tricks you can use to get just that.

Ground beef or chickpeas typically form the basis of the patty, but it is the seasoning that makes it all happen. Spices are great, but one clever ingredient you may not have considered is onion soup mix. A little packet can go a long way in adding flavor.

Believe it or not, burgers can actually be made healthy. Adding in ¾ cup of rolled oats to 2 pounds of ground beef will add some protein and fiber.
