This Hack Will Revive Your Droopy Lettuce Leaves

You might think we’ve lost our mind when we tell you this hack, but try it before you knock it.

Lettuce is one of the few, if not only, vegetables that should always be eaten raw. That means that it is at its best when it is fresh and crisp. But, as life often goes, one day you open the fridge to discover that bag of lettuce you bought 2 weeks ago that is way past its best.

But that doesn’t mean you need to throw it out.

If your lettuce is looking a bit sad, you can reverse the wilting with a trick that you probably never even considered.

People often say that you should dunk your leaves into ice cold water to shock their system and give them a refresh. By soaking them in the ice bath, the idea is that they will come out plump and crisp.

However, we’re telling you to do the complete opposite.

Forget the cold and embrace the heat!

Fill a large bowl with very hot tap water and plunge your wilted greens. Let them soak for 10–30 minutes and then drain. Wrap the leaves in a damp towel and allow them to chill before using.

You’re welcome.
