Boxed mac and cheese is right there at the top of everyone’s favorite comfort foods. It is affordable, widely available, easy to prepare, and most importantly, really tasty.
When it comes to making boxed mac and cheese, the process is fairly simple. You boil the macaroni, add milk, butter, and cheese packet, mix, and you’re good to go. Still, not everything about boxed mac and cheese is easy.
When you get cheese powder in your mac and cheese box, it is easy to get it all in the pot right away. However, when you have gooey cheese sauce instead, extracting everything from the packet can be a challenge. It appears that no matter how hard you try, there is always some cheese sauce left. And things can also get a bit messy in the process. But not anymore.
There is a cool hack on TikTok, originally shared by @brookelowe10, that will make extracting cheese sauce from boxed mac and cheese packets a walk in the park. It is mess-free and allows you to get every drop of that gooey cheesy goodness.
All you need to do is open one end of the cheese sauce packet and face it toward the inside of the pot. The sealed end is then set on the edge of the pot before pressing it with a lid.
