We’ve all heard that bananas are one of the best ways to get more potassium in our diet, but when it comes down to it, bananas aren’t the only food high in potassium. In fact, there are many other whole foods that have higher amounts of potassium than bananas. So, what foods have more potassium than bananas?

Avocados

Do you really need more reason to have avocado toast? Avocados are loaded with healthy fats, fiber, and half of one has 10 percent of your daily potassium needs.

Sweet Potatoes

Loaded with vitamin A and fiber, one medium sweet potato has 12 percent of your daily potassium intake. Pair a sweet potato with some lean protein and you’ll be full for hours.

Spinach

Not only is spinach low in calories and high in fiber and folic acid, but three cups of it has 12 percent of your daily potassium needs. Start adding it to your salads and soups.

Watermelon

One eighth of a watermelon has 14 percent of your daily potassium needs and vitamin A, vitamin C, and fiber.

Beans

No matter what kind of beans you like, you should know that they’re packed with 14 to 18 percent of your potassium needs. Beans are a great addition to salads, soups, tacos, and eggs.
