If you have ever tried to replicate something from McDonald’s at your home, you know that is impossible. The only way to get that taste you are looking for is to actually go to your nearest McDonald’s and order the thing you are craving for.

Content creator and former McDonald’s corporate chef Mike Haracz was recently asked by one of his followers why their English muffins taste so good. Replying to the follower via video, Haracz explained a simple reason why food from McDonald’s tastes so unique and can’t be replicated.

According to Haracz, in the case of English muffins, McDonald’s doesn’t use the ones you can buy at the grocery stores. Instead, an outside company makes them specifically for them. The fast food chain also develops its own recipe and doesn’t use the same type of ingredients most other people do. This is why trying to replicate their food is usually in vain.

However, Haracz shared a way to get your English muffins closer to those found at McDonald’s. Instead of toasting both sides of the muffin, just broil one side like McDonald’s does. Leaving the muffins to sit for a bit after being broiled will also help.
