If you’re trying to cut down on sugar this month, but still have a sweet tooth, then these desserts are for you. It can be hard to find amazing desserts that aren’t filled with artificial flavors, but these ones are really just as good and made with mostly whole foods.

Oat, Banana, and Chocolate Chip Cookies

With just three ingredients, you can’t really go wrong.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large bananas (mashed)
  • 1 3/4 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl.
  3. Add in the oats and mix well to combine.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop 2 tablespoons of the oat and banana mixture onto your cookie sheet and shape it into a large roundabout 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cookies are golden on top.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake

Get some veggies in your diet with this chocolate zucchini cake. It is so soft and tasty and you can’t even taste the zucchini.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy unsweetened almond butter
  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ½ cups shredded zucchini
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Coconut oil, for the pan

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease an 8- or 9-inch square pan with coconut oil.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the almond butter, maple syrup, cocoa powder, salt, coffee powder, egg, vanilla, and baking soda until fully combined and a sticky dough forms.
  3. Stir in the zucchini and chocolate chips.
  4. Pour into the prepared pan and bake until just set about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.

Chickpea Cookie Dough Bites

These chickpea cookie dough bites are the perfect ending to a meal, easy to make, no baking is required and a lot less sugar than regular cookie dough.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and peeled
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 4 tablespoons almond/oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup almond meal

Instructions:

  1. Blend the chickpeas, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and almond milk until smooth.
  2. Stir through the chocolate chips and slowly add the almond meal to the mixture, until a dough consistency is reached.
  3. Roll 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a ball and you can drizzle them with melted chocolate if desired.
