One of our all-time favorite TV shows is the ’90s hit sitcom Friends, and not just because of how relatable Chandler was. The show had a knack for making everyday occurrences into hilariously memorable plot points that continue to live rent-free in our heads even 20 years later. These plots were often centered around food, and a few have inspired some food bloggers to develop real-life versions we can recreate at home.  If you’re looking for ways to show your friends that you’ll be there for them, these recipes are a great place to start.

Ross’s Moist-Maker

Ross was beside himself when he discovered that his boss had eaten his Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich, and we didn’t blame him. Turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce are just so much better when sandwiched between two lightly toasted pieces of bread. Make your own any time of year with this recipe by Williams Sonoma.

Rachel’s Trifle

Copy the look, not the flavor. This take on a classic English trifle pays homage to Rachel’s hilarious mistake by replacing the beef sauteed with peas and onions with a mixture of Nutella and shredded coconut. We were relieved to discover that this one does not taste like feet.

Stolen Cheesecake

Cheesecake may not be a Friends-specific recipe, but who among us could ever forget the episode where Rachel and Chandler steal multiple cheesecakes from poor old Mrs. Braverman? It’s not from Mama’s Little Bakery, but we can guarantee this recipe is just as creamy and delicious.

If you’ve ever watched Friends we’re sure you remember the episode when Rachel tries to make a traditional English trifle, but ends up making one with ladyfingers, jam, beef with peas and onions, whipped cream, and bananas. While her trifle catastrophe was due to two pages of a recipe book being stuck together, making the perfect trifle requires some work and with this step-by-step guide, you’ll make one worthy of Instagram.

Layer 1: Start With a Sauce

Start by spreading a layer of sauce, frosting, or pudding to the bottom of your serving dish.

Layer 2: Top With Crumbled Cake

The next layer will be the cake cubes, which you should put on top of the sauce. There are tons of tasty “cakes” to choose from like gingerbread, brownies, vanilla cake, and Oreos. Just remember to distribute the cake equally.

Layer 3: Add More Sauce

For the third layer, add more sauce. If you want to be fancy, you can add a berry trifle between the cakes and the second layer of sauce. Make sure you don’t add to much sauce because you want the cakes cubes to still show.

Layer 4: Add Fruit

Add a sweet fruit compote or fresh cut-fruit on top of the second layer of sauce. If you are a chocolate lover, you can add chocolate curls or chocolate candies instead of fruit.

Layer 5: Top With Whipped Cream

Don’t forget to top the trifle with whipped cream. For more flavor, you can dust the whipped cream with cocoa powder, candied ginger, sprinkles, or a sprig of fresh mint.
