We love going to the Disney Parks any time of year, but there’s an extra special magic during the holidays. The time between Halloween and New Year is full of fun events, parades, and shows, but it’s really the seasonal food that we look forward to more than anything. Disney is renowned for its culinary offerings year-round. Some snacks and drinks even have what can only be described as cult followings, so it stands to reason that their holiday treats would be no different. Here’s what we’re most looking forward to enjoying this year.

Peppermint Bark Bread Pudding

This dessert is available at the Pacific Wharf Cafe at California Adventure. It consists of a warm bread pudding topped with white chocolate sauce and whipped cream finished with a sprinkle of crushed candy canes. We’re definitely going to try to recreate this one at home.

Thanks-Mas Sandwich

For a savory option, try this Thanksgiving and Christmas-inspired sandwich from Jolly Holiday bakery at Disneyland. Layers of oven-roasted turkey, gravy, and cranberry sauce melt together between two slices of rustic bread.

Seasonal Schmoozies

Schmoozies! at California Adventure is our favorite place to go for an afternoon pick-me-up. The cafe offers coffee, shakes and smoothies, and their seasonal offerings are incredibly popular. This year, check out the Dulce de Leche Mickey Shake and Chocolate-Cherry Yule Log Shake.

We all tend to gain a couple of extra pounds during the holiday season because it’s impossible to resist all the tasty treats it brings along. If you’re looking for a way to enjoy all of them, but to still welcome spring in great shape, here’s a couple of things to keep in mind.

Right Time

Holiday season can’t go without egg nog, pumpkin spice lattes, and similar tasty drinks that happen to be extremely high in sugar content. You shouldn’t completely abstain from drinking them, but keep that pleasure for special occasions instead of doing it every day.

Regular Workouts

Don’t use bad weather as an excuse to put your fitness goals on pause. It may be cold outside, but you can still burn all the extra calories from gingerbread cookies by hitting the gym or working out at home while Christmas songs play in the background.

Practice Moderation

There’s no need to give up any of your favorite holiday treats this season – as long as you know when to stop. Moderation is extremely important when it comes to eating any sugar-rich foods all year long, and you shouldn’t forget it once jingle bells start ringing.
