Winter is still here and you probably have had one or two colds and sore throats this season, which can take a toll on you. Teas are a really good addition to traditional medicine when soothing a sore throat—not just because of the warm liquid but also because some blends can actually help you to fight off illness. Here are some teas that will help you this winter to make you feel better.

Turmeric Tea

Turmeric has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which can help to relieve a sore throat. You can add ground turmeric to boiling water and strain it to create your own, or even add a lemon for some more flavor.

Green Tea

Green tea is filled with amino acids, vitamins, and minerals and is high in antioxidants. If you don’t like the taste, you can gargle with this tea to help with your sore throat.

Black Tea

If you do have a sore throat, then skip your morning coffee and drink a cup of black tea, which will reduce the inflammation.

Ginger Tea

Ginger has tons of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that will help you to fight your cold and sore throat. You can add a lemon or some cinnamon to increase the antibacterial effect.
