Reasons to Start Cooking if You Aren’t Yet

Why you should start cooking

If you’re not someone who grew up cooking, it may be hard to find a reason to do so. Perhaps your mother prepared meals for you till you left the house at age 18, and then when you became an adult, you were too conditioned to start making recipes on your own. Perhaps you found a spouse who thrives in the kitchen and figured you might as well throw in the towel. If that’s you, here’s why we recommend giving it a try anyway.

Giving to Others

When you slave away for two hours on a delicious meal for your family, it’ll all be worth it when you see the smiles on their faces once they eat it. Giving from yourself is an act of love, and isn’t that really what life’s about?

Independence

Even if you’ve found someone to cook meals for you on a daily basis, they may not always be around to do it for you. By learning how to cook, you’ll be able to take care of yourself better, making yourself a more independent, well-rounded person.

Life Experience

Learning how to cook food, and not just eat it, is an enriching life experience that everyone should have. You only live once, and as they say, “don’t knock it till you try it!”
