Teaching your kids to embrace a nutritious and well-balanced diet isn’t an easy task, and it all starts with packing the right things in their lunch boxes. You might be tempted to spoil them with some of their favorite guilty pleasure snacks, but some of them are best avoided.

Juice Boxes

Juice boxes may have the word “fruit” written on them, but don’t let that trick you into thinking they’re healthy. They’re very high in sugar, just like energy drinks, and that’s reason enough to stop drinking them.

Lunchables

Many parents swear by Lunchables, but they are not as amazing as it first appears. Despite being a great time-saver, these pre-packed meals are loaded with sodium, preservatives, and saturated fats.

Sugary Candy

Most kids enjoy eating candy and sweets, but it shouldn’t be a part of their daily diet. Sugary candy won’t do them any favors, especially since it can lead to tooth decay in addition to being unhealthy.

Processed Snacks

If you’re planning to pack some snacks for your little ones, go with nuts, fruits, or veggies. Highly-processed snacks like chips don’t belong in their lunch boxes because they’re packed with sodium and unhealthy fats.
