How to Properly Heat up Leftover Pizza

Look, pizza is good no matter what. Even elementary school lunch pizza is good. Three-day-old pizza straight out of the fridge is good. But if you want your delivery pizza to taste just as good the next day, there’s a certain method you can use to heat it up so you won’t even be able to tell it isn’t fresh. Here’s how.

What Not To Do

Just remember, whatever you do, don’t heat it up in the microwave unless you want a soggy mess.

Making It Perfect

If you want your pizza to have nice, melty cheese but also a crispy, solid crust that can support the slice, here’s what you should do:

  1. Heat up a nonstick pan over medium heat. (The nonstick part is important!)
  2. Put your pizza directly onto the pan. You can skip the oil. It’s best to use one slice, two max.
  3. Heat for two to three minutes.
  4. Add some drops of water to the pan—next to the pizza, not on top of it.
  5. Cover the pan with a lid.
  6. Heat the pizza for three to four more minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove the pizza from the pan, wait a minute or two to cool, and enjoy!
