Salmon is a great fish to know how to cook. Many people who do not like fishy-fish will still like salmon, and it’s packed with omega 3s and many healthy vitamins and minerals. The two most popular ways to cook salmon are by pan-frying and roasting it in the oven, and they both are easy to master! So give either of them a try for dinner tonight or for your next dinner party.
Pan Frying
- Take the fillets and dry them with a paper towel.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes and then add in a little bit of oil.
- Season the fillets with salt and then put them in the pan skin side down.
- Don’t touch the fillet for at least 6 minutes, up to 9. Flip when it has mostly turned light pink.
- Cook for only 1-2 minutes on the other side and serve!
Oven Roasting
- Preheat the oven to 450F.
- Season the salmon fillets however you like, with a marinade or simply with salt and some herbs.
- The fillets skin side down on a parchment lined sheet and bake until cooked through, 10-15 minutes depending on how done you like it.
- Serve with your favorite side dish!
