Chicken nuggets are a beloved classic that brings joy to both kids and adults alike. While you can easily find them in the freezer aisle of your local grocery store, there’s something extra special about making them from scratch at home. Here’s a delicious and simple recipe for homemade chicken nuggets that will have you ditching the store-bought versions for good.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized nugget pieces.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate the flavors.
  • Dip each chicken nugget into the beaten eggs, making sure to coat all sides.
  • Roll the egg-coated chicken nuggets in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure they are evenly coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken nuggets in batches and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the partially cooked chicken nuggets to the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the nuggets are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Remove from the oven and let the chicken nuggets cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, barbecue sauce, or honey mustard, and enjoy!
