Fast food items like hamburgers, wraps, and fries all look amazingly attractive when you see them on TV, billboard, or other forms of advertisement. But more often than not, they are rather disappointing when you meet them in person. From the patty being paper thin and sauce being nonexistent to bad assembly, the point is that you are not getting the product that you have been promised.

The previous example is usually seen at big fast-food chains. These establishments have to churn out a significant number of items quickly, which leads to various missteps and sometimes below satisfactory eating experiences. Singapore-based foodie Ben Chia found himself in such situations too many times to count, but that didn’t discourage him from visiting fast foods. Instead, it inspired him to create an insanely popular Instagram account McSegent on which he started documenting the mishaps of the fast-food industry.

The account started gaining followers quickly, with people worldwide contributing their own examples of funny food items that the fast-food chains actually served to their customers. This included hits like American cheese on pancakes instead of breakfast sandwiches, upside-down Big Macs, and sandwiches missing one of the buns.

“That is something we are quite proud of,” said Chia. “I’m glad that this is something that people appreciate. And, you know, sometimes it helps us relax a little bit to not take things too seriously.”
