Maple syrup and pancakes are a match made in heaven. They can make any breakfast better and will never get boring. However, because we associate maple syrup so closely with breakfast food, we forget that it can also be used in other ways. So here are some genius ways you can use maple syrup beyond pancakes.

Glaze for Baked Veggies

If you haven’t had baked potatoes glazed with maple syrup, you have been missing out. Maple syrup infuses the potatoes with just the right sweetness while giving them a more satisfying crunch. It also works well with other baked veggies like asparagus, carrots, and brussels sprouts.

Salad Dressing Enhancer

Adding something sweet to a salad might not seem appealing at first, but it doesn’t mean it can’t work. Simply mix a bit of maple syrup into your salad dressing and you will be amazed by the difference. A bit of sweetness will balance out the salt and sour, resulting in an ideal combo.

Popcorn Coating

Forget about caramel popcorn, maple syrup popcorn is the way to go. It does require a bit of work, but the final result is awesome. Bring maple syrup to a boil in a saucepan and then lower the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes. Remove from heat, add one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and give it all a good stir. Drizzle your popcorn with the syrup, wait a bit until the coated popcorn cools off, and dig in.

Fruit Dip

If you like your fruit a bit sweeter, simply use maple syrup as a dipping sauce. It goes great with apples, strawberries, bananas, and almost everything else.
