Hash Browns are a warm and delicious breakfast staple, but they’re not always the most filling. With a few easy steps, you can upgrade this simple potato dish to a full meal. Let’s take a look.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of frozen hashbrowns (thawed)
- 1 cup cooked ham, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F. In the meantime, combine your thawed hashbrowns, diced ham, and shredded cheese in a mixing bowl. Add the chopped onion to your hashbrown mix for a bit of crunch and a lot of flavor.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. This mixture will act as the glue that holds your hashbrown casserole together, giving it a lovely, custardy texture.
- Pour the melted butter into this mixture and whisk again. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over your hashbrown mix and stir until everything is nicely coated. Transfer this to a greased baking dish. Pop it into your preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the middle is set.
