Ready-rolled pastry makes this dessert super easy to make, yet still very delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 11 ounces ready rolled shortcrust pastry
  • 4 large cooking apples
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup demerara sugar

Instructions:

  1. Remove the pastry from the fridge before using
  2. Preheat the oven to 340℉
  3. Unroll the pastry
  4. Take an ovenproof dish and use it to measure up how much pastry you’ll need for the base and sides, and then cut this out
  5. Lightly grease the ovenproof dish and then place the pastry that you’ve cut into it, pressing it into the edges so it forms the base and sides of the pie
  6. With the remained of the pastry, you can form it into a ball and then roll it out to the same thickness as the rest and form it into the shape of the ovenproof dish to be used as the lid
  7. Peel and decore the apples and chop them into slices, about 1 inch thick
  8. Place the apples into the pie base in even layers
  9. Mix the cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar in a bowl
  10. Sprinkle the sugar and spices mixture over the apple slices and mix it throughout
  11. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the apples, and then cover the pie with the pastry lid
  12. Place in the oven for about 40 minutes, until the pastry is cooked and slightly browned
