We’ll admit it: our favorite part of the holidays is the food. Culinary traditions are usually passed down through generations, but if you’re looking for something new to add to your list, this addictive “Christmas crack” should be it. It’s called crack for a reason!

Ingredients:

  • 40 salted crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • Nuts, candy, or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread the crackers out in a single layer.
  3. Melt the butter and brown sugar over medium-high heat in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and continue to boil for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally. Quickly pour over the crackers and spread to cover completely.
  4. Bake for 5 minutes in the oven. Then remove and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Allow them to melt slightly and spread them out evenly.
  5. Add any additional toppings you desire.
  6. Place in the fridge for around 2 hours to harden. Once firm, break into pieces.
