Who doesn’t love some corn on the cob? It is always a great treat whether you like it salted, buttered, boiled, or grilled. Unfortunately, we can only have it in the summer and resort to canned corn in our corn-craving moments during other seasons. Canned corn is usually not as satisfying as corn on the cob, but there are plenty of things you can do to make it taste better.

Spice it Up

Looking for the easiest way to make canned corn taste better? Simply add some spices and/or herbs to it. You can try anything from chili powder and cajun seasoning to parsley and cilantro to see what you prefer the most.

Roast It

Roasting canned corn is not as unusual an idea as it sounds. A quick session in the oven (10 minutes at 350F) will remove the excess moisture, make kernels crunchier, and improve the overall taste. Just don’t forget to season it beforehand.

Cook it with Butter

You know that adding some butter to canned corn can only lead to good things. Simply drain half of the canned corn liquid and then pour the other half alongside the corn kernels in the saucepan. Add a tablespoon of butter and some salt and pepper. Cook on medium heat until butter has melted and there is almost no more liquid in the pan. Dig in.
