Beyond Meat Launches Its First Plant-Based Steak

Beyond Meat has once again raised the bar for plant-based meat substitutes. Earlier this week, the company rolled out its first plant-based steak product called Beyond Stake.

According to the official announcement, Beyond Steak comes with 21 grams of proteins per serving and none of that bad stuff like added antibiotics or hormones. Also, the product is low in saturated fat and contains no cholesterol.

Beyond Steak, which comes in the form of “meat chunks,” is available nationwide at Kroger, Walmart, and various other retail stores and chains. It takes less than five minutes to cook up in a skillet (or an air fryer) and can be used for sandwiches, burritos, pasta, and salads, among other dishes.

If you don’t have an idea of how to use this plant-based steak, you can find some inspiration in Beyond Meat’s collab with digital creator Katie Winter. As part of the promotion of the product, Winter showcased two recipes for dishes with Beyond Steak: Lo Mein and Breakfast Burrito.

While some customers will probably feel let down that they didn’t get a whole piece of plant-based steak, the early reactions are quite positive. The overall consensus is that you will hardly notice the difference compared to the real thing, especially if you use it in dishes.
