Zucchini is quite diverse. They can be stuffed, roasted, or added to other dishes and will taste great in any shape or form. That is, of course, if you manage to avoid these common mistakes people usually make when cooking zucchini.

Failing to Pick Out The Best Zucchini

You can make a mistake before you even start cooking zucchini. In order to cook this veggie right, you need to find the best one. The general rule is that you should go for the smaller ones. As zucchini get ripe and bigger, they become bitter and tougher.

Not Draining Zucchini

Zucchini is more than 90 percent water, which is not bad if you eat it fresh but can give you some trouble during cooking. To have perfectly cooked zucchini, you need to drain it. Simply cut it the way you prefer, salt it, and let it rest for 10 minutes. After that, simply pat the zucchini with a paper towel, and it’s ready to go.

Cooking it on Low Heat

Zucchini loves high heat and is best cooked this way. If you cook it on low heat, you risk having a mushy veggie that will not be as satisfying as you want it to be.

Peeling Zucchini

You might be tempted to peel zucchini before cooking it, but please resists. Not only does the skin contain a lot of nutrients, but it also makes it firmer for stuffing. Of course, you do want to wash it thoroughly.
