Chili con carne is a perfect choice when you are in the mood for some Mexican food. This dish is spicy, flavorful, and diverse. You can have it as a side dish, main dish, or even pair it with some tortilla chips and turn it into a snack. We bet you’re already craving some chili con carne, so here is how you make it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cans red kidney beans
  • 1 can corn kernel
  • 1 can canned tomatoes
  • ½ cup red wine
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 2 onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic

Instructions

1. Season the ground beef. The best way is to keep it simple, using salt, pepper, a bit of paprika, and cumin.

2. Finely chop the onions and garlic cloves. Chop the red bell pepper on larger chunks and wash the corn kernel and kidney beans.

3. Put the onion in a preheated pan and cook on medium heat until brown. Add a pinch of salt and add garlic and meat.

4. Crumble the meat while it’s slowly cooking in the pan and add wine when the meat turns brown. Let the wine boil for a bit to make sure the alcohol vapors.

5. Add red bell pepper and finely chopped chili pepper, and let it all cook for 10 minutes.

6. After 10 minutes, add canned tomato and bring it to a boil. Then put the red kidney beans and corn and cook for another 20 minutes on medium heat. If chili con carne seems dry at any moment during cooking, add some hot water.

7. Get yourself some tortillas or pita bread, and feast on it.
