As the weather begins to improve, more and more of us will start thinking about barbeques. Nothing celebrates good weather and good company like a well-executed barbeque—but unfortunately, they’re not always as easy to carry out as you might hope. Here are four simple tips to help make your barbeque run smoothly.

Position the Barbeque Away From Seating

It might seem obvious, but it always needs to be said that the barbeque should be positioned away from the main seating area. Otherwise the wind will blow thick smoke into everyone’s faces and the meal will be ruined.

Have Firelighters on Hand

It is best to try lighting the charcoal naturally, but sometimes it needs a helping hand to catch fire. Keep a packet of firelighters on hand in case you need them, and if the coal is struggling to light, place one or two firelighters over them and light them. This is guaranteed to get the fire going.

Cook the Meat First

The barbeque will progressively lose heat over time, and it’s therefore important that meat products that need to be thoroughly cooked are grilled first. This is especially true of white meats which can be dangerous if undercooked.

Use Skewers for Medleys

Metal skewers are a great way to provide a variety of food combinations for each guest. Simply add chunks of the different foods to the skewers to form a tasty medley of flavors. Enjoy!
