Even when you store your lettuce and other leafy greens properly, they can’t stay fresh for too long, and you’ll be left dealing with sad, wilted leaves after a few days. Luckily, it’s possible to revive salad greens that find themselves in this state in three short and easy steps.

Trimming Comes First

Some parts of your leafy greens will be beyond saving and you should get rid of them before moving to the next step. Trim the parts that you don’t intend to eat because they’re in extremely bad shape.

Ice Water

Submerging your leafy greens into a bowl of ice-cold water will refresh them in no time. Put your veggies in the bowl, place them inside the fridge to stop the water from warming up, and let the salad greens soak up for 15 to 30 minutes before taking them out of the fridge.

Dry and Eat

After using the ice water method to revive your leafy greens, all you need to do is wash them properly and dry them before eating them. Consuming them right away is highly recommended since you’ll have to put extra effort into drying them if you want to save them for later.
