It’s not every day that you come across a great recipe for a dessert that’s probably the most popular cookie in the world. They’re sweet, soft, and crunchy and Dorie Greenspan, a James Beard award-winning author and food journalist shared his recipe for the classic cookie.
Ingredients
- 1 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- Start by preheating an oven to 375F degrees.
- Beat the butter with an electric mixer until it is smooth, add in the sugars and keep beating until a unified smooth consistency. Stir in the vanilla and the eggs, beating for about a minute after each egg, to keep the consistency smooth.
- Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda and gradually add this dry mix to the butter mix. Fold in the chocolate.
- Make small spoon scoops and place them on a cookie sheet with some spaces between each scoop.
- Put in the oven for 9 minutes until the edges are golden and crunchy.
- Let cool on the baking tray, move to a wire rack, and let cool completely.
