There’s nothing quite like a well-stocked pantry and most of them include proteins, starches, and canned fruits and veggies. Not only will stocking your pantry save you time, but it’s also cost-effective to buy in bulk. So what foods should you buy in bulk?
Canned Tomatoes
A can of tomatoes can go a long way. Use it for tomato sauces, shakshukas, stews, or soups.
Canned or Dried Beans
Red beans, rice, hummus, refried beans, black bean salad, chili, you name it. There’s a lot you can do with beans, making them a good investment.
Nut Butters
Nut butters have a long shelf life and they can be used in oatmeal, on toast, on bananas or apples, in spicy peanut noodles, or in peanut butter cookies.
Pasta, Rice, and Grains
Pasta is one of the easiest weeknight dinners to whip up when you’re in a pinch. Rice and grains can be used to make grain bowls and oats are great for oatmeal, granola, or baked goods.
Shelf-Stable Milk
We’ve all been in a situation when we’ve run out of milk and had to go to the grocery store for this one item. This won’t happen again with shelf-stable milk, which has a longer shelf-life than regular milk. It can be used in your coffee, cereal, for baking, or in soups.
