As the weather continues to be cold, most of us suffer from sniffles or colds. When that happens, one way to help clear our sinuses is with various herbs, especially herbal tea. Tea is particularly good for this because it emits steam, which can also help clear the nasal passages. Here are a few good teas for the sniffles.

Peppermint Tea

Peppermint contains menthol, which has long been used as a home remedy for colds—maybe you remember rubbing some kind of menthol ointment on your chest as a child to help with a cough or sniffly nose. It’s also a common ingredient in cough drops for the same reason.

Herbal Tea with Honey

Honey can help soothe a sore throat, and can also loosen phlegm in your ears-nose-throat system. Loosening it can make it easier to blow your nose and can flush more mucus out of your system through drinking tea.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is super soothing for the throat and stomach. But beyond that, it works as an anti-inflammatory agent. Often a stuffy nose is a result of swollen nasal passages, so an anti-inflammatory is very helpful in both the sniffles and in making you feel more comfortable in general.
