Ingredients
- 4 ounces fresh basil
- ¼ cup walnuts
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pulse basil walnuts, ¼ cup olive oil, garlic and lemon juice in a food processor until smooth. Add the final 2 tablespoons of olive oil while the motor is running.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
- In case you want to keep pesto from browning, cover the surface of the pesto with olive oil.
- If you want to store pesto for a longer period of time, you can freeze it in ice cube trays and transfer the cubes to a zip-top bag.
