Getting all of the juice out of citrus fruits like lemons, limes, and oranges is a challenging task. It seems like no matter how hard you try, you never manage to squeeze out every drop. This can be the case even if you use utensils and juicers. The easiest solution for this problem is to use more fruit. Instead of two lemons, you use four and get enough lemon juice. But why waste money when there is a simple method that can help you get more juice out of single citrus fruit?

The Method for Getting More Juice

Put your lemon, lime, or orange in a refrigerator. You can also pop it in the freezer for better results. After few hours, take out the citrus and pop it in the microwave for around 20 seconds. If you decided to freeze the fruit, you should first thaw it at room temperature for several hours.

Roll the lemon on the counter using your palm, and then cut it lengthwise. Squeeze the juice in a cup or a glass before using the fork to poke some holes in the remaining flesh. Repeat the squeezing process and enjoy a lot more juice.

This method works because the heat helps frozen or cold juice to expand inside the flesh and break the membranes that are trapping it inside. Also, by cutting the fruit lengthwise, you expose much more membrane and avoid peel from getting in the way of releasing the juice.
