This Garlic Lemon Butter Tilapia is Full of Flavor

Tilapia is one of those dishes that is all about the sauce. It’s a bland fish and without the right sauce and seasoning, it’s dull and flavorless. But this garlic lemon butter sauce is exactly what the fish needs. Just pair the dish with some brown rice, bulgur, or quinoa and roasted broccoli or cauliflower for a healthy, delicious meal. The best part is this recipe is ready within 25 minutes and it makes two servings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tilapia fillets
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, with 1/2 zested and 1/2 cut into rounds
  • 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley, optional

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, garlic, red pepper flakes, and lemon zest. Add the juice from the lemon half you zested and mix.
  3. Place the tilapia on a small parchment-lined baking sheet and salt and pepper both sides of the fish.
  4. Evenly pour the lemon butter mixture over the tilapia.
  5. Put the lemon rounds on top of the fish.
  6. Bake the tilapia for 12 minutes in the oven, or until it’s fork-tender.
  7. If desired, garnish with parsley.
