This roll checks out all the boxes, being a delicious treat while also not requiring much effort in the kitchen. Here is how to make it.

Ingredients:

  • 6 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 2 cups ground poppy seeds
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Olive oil

Instructions:

  1. First, make the filling. Mix ground poppy seeds, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a bowl. Give it a good mix until the poppy seeds and sugar seem evenly distributed.
  2. Stack two phyllo dough sheets on top of each other. Spread 1/3 of sour cream on top of it and add 1/3 of poppy seeds and sugar mixture and 1/3 of raisings. Make a roll.
  3. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients in the same way.
  4. Stack the rolls onto a baking tray that you previously brushed with olive oil. Brush some olive oil on the rolls as well and then pop them into a preheated oven at 350F. Bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the rolls with powdered sugar and enjoy.
