Is it just us or does pie taste better when you manage to get a perfectly shaped slice? Somehow, the fine edges and triangle look add a dash of deliciousness to an already great apple or pumpkin pie. Also, you get something to brag about to your friends and social media followers.

But, as most of you have figured out by now, slicing the pie to get perfect slices is a challenging task. More often than not, we manage to butcher the first slice, and it ends up looking like a pie crumble on a plate. And once you get the first one wrong, you can never get back on track.

Luckily, there is a simple slicing trick that can help you have a perfect pie slice every time.

Perfect Pie Slices Hack

America’s Test Kitchen recently shared a slicing hack on their social media that is surprisingly simple and efficient. Best of all, you don’t need some special tools or practice to pull it off.

According to them, all you need to do is make three cuts before slicing. So, you make two cuts for the first slice but don’t take it out. Instead, you make a third cut like you are going to get two pieces. This “allows movement in the pie” and makes it easier to get the first slice without ruining it.

How did we not think of this before? We don’t know about you, but we are about to bake some tasty apple pie and try it right away.
