You try all you can, but you just can’t seem to convince your kid to eat vegetables. If that’s you, one good way to get them in the door is by spicing things up a bit—literally. Not all vegetables are created equal, and this spicy green beans recipe is changing the way people perceive it for the better. So, what do you say: are you ready for green beans to be your new favorite side?

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds green beans
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 diced tomatoes
  • 6 minced cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Before you do anything, it’s crucial that you wash your green beans so that they’re free of any dirt and grime. Once that’s done, trim the edges so that they look presentable.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and then add the green beans. Sauté them for two minutes, and then add the tomatoes, garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes. Continue to sauté the entire mix for three more minutes.
  • Lower the flame, and then continue to cook for about 12-15 minutes or until tender. Serve hot and enjoy!
