The vacuum sealer is a great kitchen tool. It helps you store food more efficiently and keep it organized. However, if you don’t own one, that shouldn’t mean the end of your efforts to vacuum seal food.

It turns out that there are a few ways you can efficiently vacuum seal food without any fancy tools. You just need some Ziploc bags and water or straw.

These hacks were brought to us by TikToker Sidney Raz. The Los Angeles-based content creator is famous on social media for revealing “things he didn’t know until his 30s,” which include all sorts of hacks and tricks.

Recently, Raz uploaded a pair of videos in which he demonstrated how you could vacuum seal a Ziploc bag.

In the first video, Raz takes a Ziploc bag and fills it with blueberries. He then seals it “most of the way,” leaving room for a straw. He proceeds to suck out the air using the straw before quickly shutting the bag.

In the second video, Raz also starts with a Ziploc bag containing blueberries. Then he closes it but not all the way, leaving a tiny bit of breathing room. The bag is then submerged in the water, pressed down, and closed shut. And it works like a charm.
