One of the best things that we can do as citizens to reduce our amount of plastic waste is simply by being smart with our consumption of water. Plastic bottles have unfortunately become a huge threat to our environment, looming as a non-biodegradable material that could cause a lot of problems in the future and present.

Want to be a conscientious water drinker? Here are some tips that will help you to reduce waste.

Use a Reusable Bottle

Reusable water bottles are an absolute life-saver. Not only will they help you to spot spending so much money on bottled water and other drinks, but they are also helpful for reducing the amount of waste that you produce due to their reusable nature.

Don’t Buy Bottled Water

Bottled water is an absolute no-no for those of us who are looking to be environmentally conscious. Not only do the plastic bottles in which they are sold work to pollute, but there are also plenty of more sustainable alternatives that are readily available.

Tap Water is Your Friend

As long as you live in or are traveling to a place with a modern sanitation system, drinking tap water is completely fine. The water that comes through your tap has been purified and sanitized to make it completely okay to drink, so take advantage of it!
