In the Philippines and Southeast Asia, moringa is a staple in certain meals. It’s perfect and light for the stomach and it has multiple vitamins and minerals which help with digestive issues. Here’s an easy and refreshing moringa soup recipe derived from the Philippines to help you ward off illnesses.

Ingredients:

  • moringa stalks
  • 4 cups of filtered water
  • olive oil (optional)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • fennel seeds
  • ginger
  • cumin seeds
  • taro roots
  • Thai chile
  • lime

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine the moringa, oil, water, and seasonings over medium-high heat.
  2. Boil and cook the soup.
  3. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook.
  4. Cook until veggies are soft for 25 minutes.
  5. Move everything to a blender and pulse until it’s a puree.
  6. Sieve the ingredients in a bowl and strain.
  7. Press the moringa pulp out.
  8. Add some moringa to the soup.
  9. Garnish with lime and a small spoon of olive oil on top.
  10. Garnish with pepper.
